5 Star Idea! Reasonable price. Works with my original iPhone. A bit wierd you have to turn phone around (to bottom to use phone mic. Its great that the microphone graphic is upside down to remind users of the proper orientation for speaking. Since there is no pop filter, you have to utilize good mic techniques so you speak past the mic, and not into it. Speaking directly into the mic picks up all kinds of annoying breathing sounds and air pops. But adjusting how you place the mic works ok. A tissue over the mic might cut down on that kind of stuff. But this is a great cheap way to turn your iPhone into a Microphone. The sound quality depends on the quality of your speaker set. I have some Klipsch computer speakers, and frankly, the sound is pretty good. It is a bit odd that there is no Options setting to control the headphone volume output via the iPhone. The speaker jack has to be inserted before you can adjust the (output) headphone volume, which increases (or decreases) the output volume going to the speakers. (The headphone output volume level is controlled separately from the overall volume output level of your iPhone.) Obviously, one can also adjust the output volume of the connected speakers, as long as your stand-alone speakers have independent volume control. I could use this app nicely with my ampified computer speakers. For original iPhone and non 3G users, you will need one of those headphone adapters so the 3.5mm jack fits OK in the iphone. It wont work without one-- unless you shave down the 3.5mm plug to fit into the narrow headphone jack space. Adapters are about $7 online at Mac accessory dealers. I had an extra jack adapter anyway because I upgraded my headphones when I first bought my iPhone. I also bought a 20ft 3.5mm extension cord (about $12) so I could run my sound through my speakers (after my bluetooth speaker transmitter set up died.) If you do public speaking, you should get a 3.5mm extension cord. Overall, MEGAPHONE IS a great idea. Just needs a few tweeks for volume settings. Might be cool too if you had a few dif skins for the mic graphic. But I like it !
I also wish there were effects like alien or echo
...at least not on my 2G phone. The intro plays fine, but no mike.
GREAT concept A LOT OF FEEDBACK I would cant even reach volume level 3 on my amp, and not even all the way on the iPhone!! good thing I got it when it was free!!!
I bought this app so that I can use it with my SE530 headphones as a substitute for the 50$ PTH control. Why is the output in the left channel only? This badly needs to be fixed.
This app does exactly what it says and works perfectly! I would give it 5 stars if it had a mic volume (in addition to the speaker volume on whatever youre using as an amp) and it needs to broadcast on both L and R speakers instead of just L.
can you please make this work with ipod touch microphones...thank you!
I use it as a scratch pad for recording vocal melodies into Logic Pro. It works perfectly!

Thancks
Allow iPod to play at background will make it worth it!
I bought this app because my friend has it and she has the same ipod as me, but i cant use it on my ipod touch!!!It was the worst thing i ever bought!!!
Would like it to work with iPod in the background for karaoke - Im sure u can do this!
i thought it was compattible with ipod touch. i used $2 on it!
Works just as stated. I would suggest that the App start with the mike switch in the "off" position by default to avoid feedback when the app first starts.
Not for the iPhone 4. Im assuming there will be a compatibility update, and hopefully soon. On iPhone 4 and iOS4, it plays 2 seconds and crashes. This is the first and only app to crash on my new phone. Ill update my review if/when the app is updated. If you have an iPhone 4, dont throw away 2 bucks on this unless later reviews indicate a change.
I updated my iPhone 3GS to a iPhone 4 and this App goes for about 2 secs but the free one worked on my 3GS. So I wasted 1.99 for nothing.
It crashes every time on my iPhone 4
